Good Friends vs Bad Friends

One of our 5 keys we focus on in our workshops is Good Friends versus Bad Friends. Coming up with ideas for this station, came from a lot of personal experience when going through my self-worth trials. These friendships are something that I have realized have a huge impact on my view of self. Often, we let those around us; greatly influence what we think of ourselves. Sometimes we can be surrounding ourselves with “bad” friends and not even realize they are subtly bring us down. I found a list on the internet that can help you decipher if your friends are “good” friends or “bad” friends. As you read it, think about those closest to you and which category they fall into. It took a long time for me to learn the difference myself, and I feel I am finally at a place where I no longer have toxic friends in my life. Girl, Be Brave

Guest Contributor: Shannon Braasch, MA Masters Level Clinician and Outreach Specialist at Reasons Eating Disorder Center I have to admit, I have been thinking about what to share with you all for a while now. I wanted my words to be profound and meaningful. I wanted it to be perfect . But I just couldn’t seem to write anything that was “good enough.” What I realized is that I need to be brave, put my thoughts down and share them---without over thinking them or worrying if you will like what you read. That is what I would ask of you; to be brave and have confidence in your beautiful mind and put a voice to those thoughts, without worrying about judgement or perfection. So I am here, to lead by example, being brave and unapologetic. Because I am enough, and so are you. So there, that’s a topic; let’s talk about how we can be unapologetic, brave, resilient girls and celebrate our enoughness.

You think answering the question "What Does Self Worth Mean To You?" can be difficult to answer, try compiling your life story into one blog post. She had to dig deep and be honest to compile her story and we love and appreciate her for going there. I am almost a half century old and I am just now starting to figure things out. Sad in a way, but in another I have a lot more understanding and compassion for what I am witnessing in myself and others. It's amazing what can happen in that amount of time.
