Hey Sparklers!
Our country is going through a crazy time right now. People yell at each other, they don’t trust
each other, and more people are becoming bullies. This means that more people need to lend a
helping hand, show confidence in each other, and be kind and loving.
Sparklers, we need to make our mark on the world! One of the greatest ways we can do this, is
being kind and setting an example to those around us. One thing all sparklers learn throughout our
program is “Make your Mark.” At our
workshops, we ask the girls to participate in a service project at one of our
stations, and in this way girls become involved with their communities in a
positive way. We want girls and women to
know that one of the most constructive ways to show who you are is helping those
around you. This is something that is
being lost in our communities at the moment.
People like to hear and spread gossip, scandals, and find people and
actions to criticize. Ladies, let’s show
everyone that this is not the right way to make their mark on the world.
I believe we need to serve more. I believe we need to spread kindness
more. What people need in our schools,
companies, and communities is tolerance and kindness. If you see an elderly person putting
groceries in their car, walk over and help them! If you see another kid at school that has no
one to play with at recess, go play with them!
We can be examples of spreading joy and love to those around us.
Also, as we make our mark on others, they will want to make
a positive difference in other people’s lives as well. “Pass it on” is a real and living concept
today. If you help someone, they will
pass on the kindness and help someone else.
Make your mark on the world today!
Go out and smile at someone, listen to them, or help them! Do something that changes the attitude of one
person. If we can all do this at least
once a day, we will see the people around us start to change, and the
communities we live in will start to change.
Make a positive mark on those you care about.
Girls, I know that you all have an individual sparkle in
your heart, and you can light someone else’s sparkle today! Let’s go out and make our mark on the world!
