True Beauty

“True beauty radiates not from outer cosmetics, but from the simple joy of making a difference for those that need your voice, passion, and time without expecting or wanting anything in return...”

“A beautiful person is not defined by a hair style, a pair of shoes; it’s not the logos on the T-shirt, the sport’s team on a hat, the designer’s name on a hand bag, or even how you smell. Instead, beauty lies in who you are when no one is watching, the person you are when there’s nothing to hide behind. No amount of concealer can cover up a cantankerous heart, but all the make-up in the world can’t add a single lumen to the brightness of a beautiful soul.”

I decided to search True Beauty on the internet today, to see what everyone else thought it was. First I learned that loving yourself for who you are is a form of beauty and secondly, how you impact the world is a way to show true beauty. No matter how many materials you may put on to enhance your outer "beauty", true beauty still has to start from within. In my opinion, true beauty lies in our actions and I believe that everyone has some kind of beauty inside and out. There are the people who always say “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, but what if you're the beholder? We seem to always want to know if we are beautiful to others and if we meet their appearance standards, but ultimately does that really matter if you're the one who has to live with yourself? Why care about what others think of you if they're not even you? Let's say that you have a significant other that loves you and they see you as a beautiful person. That’s amazing, but that person may never really know you completely. In order to see your full potential beauty, they need to know every detail about you, your every thought and idea that has been and will be. Obviously they can’t do that. They can't go into your head and see the way you see things, they can't feel the way you feel about things, the only person who can do that, is YOU. So when you want to know if you are truly beautiful, don't look to see if other people think you are. Don't compare yourself to other people. You need to find your own inner beauty, whether it be through your actions are or by looking inward and finding what truly appeals to you and makes you happy on a personal level. As humans, we gravitate towards beautiful things, but it varies for each individual. Be observant; find those things for yourself and then be proud, because that is your True Beauty.
